I swear on God [Main kasam khata hun]

” I swear on God ” , what is the origin of this type of statement . In olden days, when in a court of law to decide on a particular issue, two types of sakshi were applicable. 1. Deva saksh , 2 Manush saksh. Those were the days , when akashvani , vayudoot ,maegh garjana etc were frequent. People instantly recognized the efficacy and rectified. In Dev saksh if a man gives a false swear then instantly an aberration would be felt. and Justice could be sought. But even earlier in time , only  manush saksh were considered , in those days \none spoke untruth. Falsehood would immediately diminish ones stature (in kritayuga and tretayuga) . hence Manush saksh was enough . As dwapar started people started lie-ing . Dev saksh was introduced in the court and devatas took pains in maintaining dev saksh through akashvani and  personal appearances and  forcing calamities on place of injustice. As kaliyuga dawns \Manu advises to abandon both types of saksh and only circumstantial evidence be acceptable[ because ; Devatas stopped akashvani, Men embraced only falehood]. But Dev saksha continues to instill faith and recourse in a man. Even in day to day affairs people swear in the name of \god to settle contentious issues. But every swear brings its effect in a period of \one year in this era. So though late Dev saksh still has efficacy in personal matters or between two consenting good persons.
