Indriyajayasya Moolam Vinaya: | Vinayasya Moolam Vriddhopaseva

How is vinaya obtained ? Vinaya has its root in the service of the elders , Vridhdha.

There are three types vriddhas according to Shastra 1.Vayovriddha 2.Gnyana vriddha 3.Tapovriddha.

Vayo vriddha are those who are elder in age ,they should be respected and served .

Gnyana vriddha are those who have acquired immense knowledge ,these are also akin to old and elderly ,these should be served more

Rajya Moolam IndriyaJaya:

Wealth is stable only when one is active in rule [avocation etc].
For a King its rule and for ordinary people its avocation or [job or activity akin to birth and qualifications].
To keep intact, unperturbed ones’ rule and power , one has to be in control of his senses. [Indriya jaya]
Senses in control ensures steady growth of Dharma,
it gives control of the mind and control of mind gives control over masses [praja] .
Such control enables a king to establish rule of Law
Such control ensures proper tax collection
Such control ensures collision free trade and commerce.
Such control ensures a fear

Arthasya Moolam Rajyam

Good financial stability comes from well established rule of LAW. Rule of Law is very important for a state , if a state is missing stable rule of law then people there will not have faith in the King. Such people will take law unto themselves and state will be in a state of jungle law[might is right] . Thus prosperity will take a big hit , people will spend most of the time in saving their belongings from getting lost/looted or taken away through deciet ,force and lack of LAW. such a state of

Dharmasya Moolam Artha:

To carry out a living in accordance with the Dharma , one needs artha[money ,food,objects of desire,clothes ,and other household articles].Without these dharma cannot be adhered to. Sometimes people like Dronacharya etc resorted to shilonchsvritti [living without asking /begging or taking anything from others] . People observing such complete aparigraha vrata, can eat or support their family by collecting grains left over after cleansing the field. But eventually Drona had to give up this vrata and join royal service as teacher.
